
Just in time for the World Cup, Socceria, from the Taqueria Ramírez team, is coming to Greenpoint.
Right now, Giovanni Cervantes and Tania Apolinar are opening not one, not two, but three new restaurants. In the process, they’ll go from the couple behind a couple of New York’s most darling restaurants (Taqueria Ramírez and Carnitas Ramírez) to the operators of a burgeoning hospitality group. There’s the tacos al carbon spot that, as I wrote, is part of the Smith Street revival; a West Village mariscos restaurant called El Camarón Peludo; and, previously unreported, a cantina and soccer bar called Socceria in Greenpoint.
